The Boy’s birthday was yesterday, and we spent the weekend celebrating with family and friends. We spent time with friends we hadn’t seen in a while, laughing over pizza and Apples to Apples late into Friday night before heading back for some sleep.
Saturday was The Boy’s birthday, and we spent the afternoon with his family and our old roommate, having a relaxing and fun time.
Of course, being a birthday, there was cake.
The Boy’s mom fixed a yellow funfetti cake, which was deliciously moist.
Of course, we had to take the candles off before we could dig in to some cake with vanilla ice cream alongside. Once we finished with our cake, we watched the Bearcats win their game and settled in for bed late, watching The Venture Brothers on DVD before falling asleep.
Today, the weather was beautiful, and we spent a lot of time outside, playing with The Boy’s parents’ dog. It was warm enough out to be comfortable in lightweight long sleeves, even though many of the trees had lost their leaves.
Eventually, it was time for us to head home. After a delicious dinner out, we headed home, and upon arrival, were greeted by three kitties who were very happy to see us.
Now, we’re snuggling with the cats and getting ready for the week ahead. This weekend was gorgeous and fun, and I loved getting to join the festivities.
