I realized earlier today that I am frequently posting breakfast, but rarely post about the other meals that I eat during the day. This week, I’ve decided that I’m going to focus on dinner time, and the foods I fix for our evening meals. This doesn’t mean that I won’t post breakfast, but it does mean that you can expect more posts about dinner.
I got in after dark this evening, and was eager to cook something filling. Lately, I’ve been asking The Boy to cook more often, but I wanted the kitchen to myself tonight. I fixed something simple, boiling water fore pasta, and browning some ground turkey before mixing it with pasta sauce, tossing it all together for a quick and delicious meal.
This was delicious and full of flavor. We ate pasta a lot when we first moved in together – it was something that was quick and easy to prepare, with many variations on the type of dishes that could be made with it. Now, I cook pasta far less than I once did, and often forget that it makes for a simple and elegant meal when prepared.
I topped my plate of pasta with shredded Italian blend cheese and spicy red pepper flakes, and stirred in some sauteed mushrooms for added flavor and veggies. I ate a large portion of the pasta, filling myself up. It was a warm and hearty meal to end the day, and one that I don’t make often enough.
What is a meal that you don’t prepare as often as you think you should?
