Today has been a busy and fun day. It was gray and chilly, and well, busy! But, before I go any further, I just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS to Caitlin for totally rocking her triathlon this morning! I found her recap to be so inspiring, and am so excited for her!
Our day started out late. We stayed up late last night, and that combined with the time change meant that we weren’t out of bed until nearly eleven this morning! I’m still adjusting to that lost hour of time from daylight savings starting – but loved how late the sun was up today.
Because we slept so late, we skipped breakfast and went right to lunch. I enjoyed a six-inch turkey sub from Subway, loaded with veggies and honey mustard. Delicious! I even did something I NEVER would otherwise do and got my sandwich with onions, which added quite the kick! Normally I can’t STAND uncooked onions, but today was looking for something with a fresh crunch and some bite to add to my sandwich. Unfortunately, I was starving by the time I sat down to eat, and didn’t snap a photo, but loved every bite.
We spent our afternoon baby-sitting for some friends so they could enjoy an afternoon out. It was a lot of fun, with lots of games, including one of War that lasted almost an hour! We had a blast and didn’t end up home until later in the evening, deciding to order in some La Rosa’s for dinner. Normally, The Boy goes with a calzone, and I go with some pizza, but tonight I had a hankering for a calzone as well, and opted to get one stuffed with cheese, mushrooms, black olives, and banana peppers.
I dunked it in both some garlic sauce and marinara, and it was amazing! I ended up eating two thirds of this along with a few squares of garlic bread – so good! By the time I finished eating I was satisfied, and settled in with The Boy to watch a documentary on ESPN.
Now, we’re both unwinding before bed, watching to see who will be playing in the first round of the NCAA tournament and discussing our plans for the coming week. I hope you all had a great weekend, and I’ll see you tomorrow!
