Hey, hey!
Sorry for the lack of post last night – The Boy and I went out to Dewey’s for a tasty pizza dinner, and I went out dancing with some friends not long after. I ended up not getting home until three. After grabbing a snack, I crashed and didn’t wake up till almost eleven this morning!
I woke up thirsty and wanted something light and refreshing to eat for a late breakfast, rather than having a big lunch. I ended up having a slice of my leftover pizza from last night, along with a yogurt mess. I felt dehydrated, and this really hit the spot.
In my bowl I layered together a ripe banana, Autumn Wheat, some granola, and some yummy plain yogurt. It was full of tasty crunch and was so good!
The weather was so lovely today, and I hit the gym for a good elliptical workout mid-afternoon. The Boy and I decided to take advantage of the lovely weather and went outside for a good game of catch – our first of the year! It was so much fun to lob a ball back and forth while we talked – it’s one of our favorite summer evening activities.
We came in hungry and ready for dinner. It was a bit early, but we had plans to see Chevelle and Breaking Benjamin this evening – something we’ve been looking forward to since we got the tickets in January! Since we wanted to be at the venue early, I whipped up a quick dinner, making a big pot of potato soup, along with some chicken to stir in for extra protein.
It was steamy, creamy, cheesy, and delicious. With how warm it has been lately, I think that this is going to be the last pot of potato soup until fall.
Once we finished eating, we drove to the concert – settling into our seats about a half hour before the first band came to the stage. We were both excited – unfortunately, our point-and-shoot’s batteries were dead when we went to turn it on, so the only photos I have are still on our phones. We had a LOT of fun!
There were four bands playing, and all of them sounded fantastic. We sang along with Chevelle’s set, loving the lead singer’s reaction to the HUGE crowd in the arena. The energy that built up during the night was fantastic – everyone was getting into the music, and when Breaking Benjamin took the stage it was AWESOME. They performed with video screens and went all out. We were impressed with everyone’s performance this evening and left with big grins on our faces. We had a great time this evening and talked about the show the whole way back to the house.
Well guys, we’re getting ready to head up to bed for the night. I hope you had a great day! See ya tomorrow!
